Gaya Polytechnic has recorded a major milestone in its establishment as the Kano State Government has presented the institution with a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for its permanent site, bringing it closer to full take-off.
The certificate was formally presented to the Chairman of the Gaya Polytechnic Implementation Committee, Prof. Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, by the Kano State Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Hon. Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar Garko.
The development marks a significant step in the state government’s efforts to establish the polytechnic on a permanent and legally secured site, paving the way for further infrastructure development and the eventual commencement of full operations.
Receiving the certificate, Prof. Kurawa commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his continued commitment and support towards the successful establishment and development of the institution.
He described the presentation as an important milestone in realising the vision behind Gaya Polytechnic, expressing optimism that it would accelerate preparations for the institution’s full operational take-off at its permanent site.
Kurawa also appreciated Commissioner Garko and the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning for their roles in facilitating the issuance and presentation of the certificate.
He said the milestone would strengthen efforts to transform Gaya Polytechnic into a fully operational institution capable of contributing to human capital development, technical education and the socio-economic advancement of Kano State.
The acquisition of the Certificate of Occupancy represents another step in the establishment of the institution and reflects the state government’s efforts to expand educational opportunities and strengthen tertiary and technical education infrastructure.
With the latest development, Gaya Polytechnic has moved closer to commencing full operations at its permanent site, supporting the broader goal of improving access to quality education in Kano State.
