The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been commended for appointing Alhaji Aminu Abba Ibrahim as Special Adviser on Solid Minerals in the state.
The commendation was made by the former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Employees (NUFBTE), Comrade Yahaya Haruna Tinki, during an interview with Triumph Newspapers in Kano.
Tinki said since the appointment of the Special Adviser, the solid minerals sector in the state has recorded significant progress, particularly in strengthening the relationship between miners and the government.
He noted that Kano State is endowed with abundant mineral resources, adding that the creation of the Ministry of Solid Minerals by Governor Yusuf’s administration would help in identifying, harnessing, and developing the resources across the state.
The former union leader urged the state government to provide maximum support to the Special Adviser to enable him contribute effectively towards boosting economic development through the solid minerals sector.
Speaking on insecurity challenges in Tsanyawa Local Government Area, Tinki commended Governor Yusuf for the measures taken to improve security in the area.
He, however, appealed to the government to extend security operations to Yankamaye village, which shares a border with the Rimaye Forest in Katsina State, to further protect residents and prevent criminal activities.
