Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent deaths of several prominent sons and daughters of the state, urging residents to pray for the repose of their souls and support their bereaved families.
In a statement issued by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Muhammad, Governor Buni described the series of deaths recorded across the state in recent weeks as a painful loss.
“As faithful, we all know that death is an inevitable end. It comes only at the appointed time ordained by Almighty Allah (SWT),” the governor said.
He noted that among those who recently passed away were the late Emir of Ngazargamu, Dr. Bukar Aji, a Permanent Secretary; former Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ligali Lawan Ma’aji; Hajiya Mairiga Umar; and several other distinguished citizens.
Governor Buni described their deaths as a great loss not only to their families and communities but also to Yobe State, noting that each of them made valuable contributions to the development of the state in their respective capacities.
“As Muslims, we accept the will of Almighty Allah and pray for the repose of their souls. May Almighty Allah grant them Aljannatul Firdaus and give their families the strength to bear these irreparable losses,” he said.
The governor acknowledged that the losses have been difficult for the state but urged the people to remain steadfast in faith, stressing that everything happens according to the will of Allah.
He concluded by praying for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness upon the deceased, asking that they be granted eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
