Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved the release of N2,110,403,965.83 for the payment of gratuities and death benefits to 772 beneficiaries, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the prompt settlement of retirement benefits.
The funds will cover gratuities and death benefits for state and contract staff, as well as retirees from the Local Government Service and Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs).
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Malami Shakari, mni, and signed by the Director of Administration, Rashidu Muhammad Bala, FCIA, FCIHRSM.
The statement was made available to journalists on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the beneficiaries comprise retired state and contract employees, as well as personnel from the Local Government Service and LGEAs. The payments cover the period from September 16, 2025, to January 15, 2026.
The state government said the approval reflects Governor Idris’ determination to enhance the welfare of workers, retirees and the families of deceased public servants by ensuring the timely payment of their entitlements.
The administration reiterated its commitment to prioritising the welfare of civil servants and pensioners as part of its broader agenda to improve public service delivery and social welfare in Kebbi State.
