In a bid to strengthen security operations across Plateau State, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has handed over the first batch of refurbished and rehabilitated vehicles to security agencies.
The move, which was part of a decision made during a recent Security Council Meeting, aims to enhance the agencies’ capacity to respond swiftly to emerging security challenges.
Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel N. Jatau, presented the vehicles to representatives of various security agencies, including Operation Rainbow, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Police Force, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) respectively.
Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude to security personnel for their tireless efforts in safeguarding lives and property, particularly in rural areas.
He emphasized the administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting security agencies and ensuring the safety and security of all Plateau State residents.
The refurbished vehicles will significantly enhance the agencies’ mobility and operational efficiency, enabling them to effectively carry out their duties.
David Olusegun, the consultant overseeing the refurbishment project, revealed that 32 vehicles were initially earmarked for repairs, with 21 now ready for deployment.
The remaining 11 vehicles are expected to be delivered within the next two weeks.
He further disclosed that funding has been secured for the second and third phases of the refurbishment project, which will further bolster the mobility of security personnel across the state.
