From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina
Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has called on chief executives of government agencies and parastatals to reflect on their responsibilities and conduct a self-evaluation of their actions in light of the trust placed in them.
The governor made this appeal while receiving a delegation of permanent secretaries and heads of government agencies, led by the State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, during a Sallah visit.
Emphasizing the critical role of permanent secretaries in government operations, Radda described them as the “engine rooms of their respective establishments.” He urged them to streamline administrative processes and reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks to ensure efficient service delivery.
“This is necessary, as time waits for no one,” the governor stated.
Governor Radda expressed gratitude to his appointees for their dedication and called for even greater commitment in serving the state. He also extended his appreciation to the people of Katsina for their support following the recent passing of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umar Barebari.
In his remarks, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar explained that the delegation’s visit was part of the customary Sallah homage to the governor. He stressed the importance of public service, reminding officials of their duty to uphold the trust placed in them for effective governance.
Justice Abubakar highlighted the significance of the oath of office, stating that it “clearly defines responsibilities and trust.” He further reminded those present that “everyone will stand before their Creator to account for their deeds in the Hereafter.”
While congratulating Governor Radda on the successful Sallah celebrations, the chief judge also conveyed the delegation’s condolences over the passing of his mother.
