The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commended the Federal Government over ongoing projects being executed by the North West Development Commission (NWDC) across Kano State and other states in the North-West geopolitical zone.
The Governor specifically appreciated the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for initiating and supporting development interventions through the North West Development Commission, describing the efforts as impactful to the lives of people in the region.
This was contained in a press statement issued on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, at the Kano State Government House.
Governor Yusuf made the commendation when he received the Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmad, on a courtesy visit to Government House, Kano.
He stated that the NWDC had already commenced meaningful interventions that would continue to positively affect the lives of citizens across the region.
“We have witnessed several development projects and interventions across the North-West. We must commend Mr. President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for these efforts,” the Governor said.
Earlier, the Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmad, expressed appreciation to the Governor for his continuous support to the Commission.
He noted that the State Government had allocated two hectares of land for the permanent site of the Commission and also donated vehicles to support its operations.
According to him, such gestures demonstrate strong collaboration between the state government and the Commission in ensuring that development projects reach the intended beneficiaries.
“You have done a lot for us, too numerous to mention,” the Minister said.
