Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, describing his demise as a great loss to Jigawa State, the traditional institution and the people of the emirate.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Thursday.
Governor Yusuf extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Umar Namadi, the Government and people of Jigawa State, the Emirate Council, members of the late Emir’s family and the people of Gumel Emirate over the painful loss.
He described the late Emir as a respected traditional ruler who devoted his life to the peace, unity and development of his people.
The governor prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family and the people of Gumel the strength to bear the loss.
Governor Yusuf also urged the people of Jigawa State to take solace in the legacy of service and leadership left behind by the late Emir.
