Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the former Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr. Mahmud Baffa Yola, who passed away after a prolonged illness.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf described the late Dr. Yola as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the development of water resources and rural communities in Kano State were invaluable.
According to the Governor, the deceased served with integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of the people.
He noted that Dr. Yola’s death is a significant loss to Kano State, considering the vital role he played in formulating and implementing policies and programmes that positively impacted the lives of citizens, particularly those in rural areas.
“We have lost a public-spirited individual who devoted his time, knowledge, and energy to the service and development of our state.
“His contributions will remain a lasting legacy and will continue to be remembered by generations to come,” Governor Yusuf said.
The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, his friends, associates, and the entire people of Kano State.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the late Dr. Yola’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
