A member of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon.Salisu Hamza Rimaye, has disbursed ₦20million to vulnerable and physically challenged persons.
The assistance was also extended to about 200 petty traders. Rimaye, who represents the Kankia constituency, said the amount disbursed under NGO Mai Gemu Foundation is to minimise current economic hardship.
He said as a member representing the area he must initiate ways to assist people voted into power any time they need such assistance.
“As an elected member, it is part of my responsibility to initiate ways toward alleviating the suffering of my people and work for the development of the area,”” he said.
He noted that the amount disbursed will revive economic activities and minimise poverty.
He assured me that he will continue to work to serve his people with various programmes initiated by the Mai Gemu Foundation.
Earlier, the Secretary of the foundation, Abu Yazid Na Sudan, said ₦10millon would disbursed to 200 Petty traders.
He said another ₦10million is for selected Vulnerable and physically challenged persons.
He charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money given to them.
