Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Saturday served as Wakili (representative) at the wedding Fatiha of former Managing Director of Kano Line, Hon. Bashir Nasiru Aliko Koki, and his bride, Surayyah Saleh Bala.
The wedding ceremony, held at Layin Shata, Kurna Asabe quarters in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, attracted family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers who gathered to witness the solemnisation of the marriage.
Bashir Koki, who is the son of a prominent Kano APC chieftain, Alhaji Nasiru Aliko Koki, paid a dowry of N200,000 in accordance with Islamic tradition.
Representing the Kano State Government at the occasion, Deputy Governor Garo congratulated the couple and prayed for Allah’s blessings, peace and prosperity in their marriage.
He urged the newlyweds to build their home on the values of mutual respect, patience, tolerance and responsibility, stressing that such virtues were essential for a successful and lasting union.
“The sanctity of marriage requires commitment, understanding and sacrifice from both partners. Couples should always uphold the values that strengthen peaceful family relationships,” Garo said.
The Deputy Governor later proceeded to Wudil town, where he also served as Wakili at the wedding Fatiha of Malam Saleh Adamu and his bride, Zainab Hassan Jibrin.
The second ceremony was also solemnised with a dowry of N200,000 and attended by relatives, friends and community members.
Prayers were offered at both events, with Islamic scholars and guests seeking Allah’s guidance, love, unity and righteous offspring for the couples.
The Deputy Governor also extended his goodwill to both families, wishing them a peaceful and prosperous marital journey.
