Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, on Thursday led a state government delegation to the Janazah prayer of the APC Caucus Chairman in Tsanyawa Local Government Area, Alhaji Hamisu Bala Gurum, who died earlier in the day.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Kano State.
Garo, who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the funeral prayer held in Gurun town, conveyed the governor’s condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, the APC family and the people of Tsanyawa Local Government Area.
The deputy governor described Gurum’s death as a painful and great loss, saying the deceased was a committed political leader who dedicated his lifetime to the service and development of his community.
“The Kano State Government shares in the grief of the family and the people of Tsanyawa at this difficult moment. We pray Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus,” Garo said.
The late Gurum, who was survived by three wives, 22 children and many grandchildren, held several political and community leadership positions during his lifetime.
He was previously the Chairman of the Tsanyawa NRC and Acting Chairman of the PDP in Tsanyawa Local Government Area.
Gurum was also among those who contributed to the creation of Tsanyawa Local Government Area.
Garo prayed to Almighty Allah to comfort the bereaved family and grant the deceased’s wives, children, relatives and loved ones the strength and patience to bear the painful and irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor also led the delegation to Bichi Local Government Area, where they paid a condolence visit to APC chieftain, Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim, popularly known as Dan KB Bichi, over the death of his father, Alhaji Ibrahim Gandu Bichi.
According to the statement, Garo conveyed the condolences of Governor Yusuf and the Kano State Government to the bereaved family.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
