The Kano State Government has approved Friday, February 28, 2025, as the official second-term vacation date for all public and private primary and post-primary schools in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment at the State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru.
According to the statement, parents and guardians of students in boarding schools are expected to ensure their wards return home by the early hours of Friday.
The statement further noted that boarding school students are to resume on Sunday, April 6, 2025, while day students are expected back in school on Monday, April 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, has urged parents and guardians to comply fully with the resumption schedule.
He warned that students who fail to adhere to the stipulated dates would face appropriate disciplinary actions.
Makoda also expressed gratitude for the continued support and cooperation from parents and stakeholders in the education sector.
He wished the students a peaceful and successful Ramadan holiday.
