The Permanent Secretary of the Kano State Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, Town Planner Yahuza, has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his sustained support to the ministry, saying the interventions have significantly improved its performance and efficiency.
Speaking to journalists, TPL Yahuza said the governor’s commitment has elevated the ministry’s operations, particularly in the area of internally generated revenue (IGR), which has increased remarkably from about N70 million to N700 million monthly.
He explained that the transformation was made possible through reforms in land administration and improved policy implementation, especially in land titling and documentation systems.
According to him, Kano State is now setting a standard in land administration that other states may find difficult to match, given the strength and effectiveness of its current land policy framework.
“The support from His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has greatly strengthened the ministry.
“Our revenue base has grown significantly, and our land administration system is now among the most efficient in the country,” he said.
TPL Yahuza also praised the governor for the appointment of Hajiya Bilkisu Maimota as Head of Service, describing the decision as well deserved.
He noted that Hajiya Maimota’s elevation was based on her track record of simplicity, patience, endurance, and dedication to public service.
“She is a disciplined and committed administrator whose qualities have earned her this important position. We are confident she will deliver excellently,” he added.
The Permanent Secretary reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the state government’s vision for improved land management and sustainable development.
