The Kano State Government has reiterated its commitment to partnering with private investors to promote sports development and expand sporting infrastructure for young people across the state.
The Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, stated this while representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the commissioning of a new football pitch established by the proprietress of Breakthrough Football Academy, Hidaa Ahmad Gardar, in Gunduwawa, Gezawa Local Government Area.
Babangida said the government was ready to collaborate with private investors within and outside the state to promote sports, develop facilities and support athletes to excel in various competitions.
He noted that Kano was blessed with abundant untapped sporting talents that required encouragement, investment and adequate support to reach their potential.
The commission chairman commended Gardar for her vision, commitment and dedication to providing sporting facilities, describing the initiative as a contribution to grassroots sports development.
He urged young footballers to make effective use of the new pitch to improve their skills, develop their talents and pursue opportunities in professional football.
Babangida attended the commissioning ceremony alongside Alhaji Bashir Dantata, Dan Masanin Kano, and other distinguished guests of Lebanese extraction.
