The Director-General of the Kano State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (KASITDA), Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, has paid a strategic working visit to the Kano State Ministry of Health as part of ongoing sectoral engagements aimed at accelerating the digitalisation of key sectors across the state.
The visit is in line with the implementation of the Kano State Digital Transformation Agenda (2025–2030), a flagship initiative of the administration of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, designed to modernise public service delivery through innovative technology and robust digital infrastructure.
During the meeting, Dr. Muzakkari emphasised the importance of leveraging digital technologies to improve healthcare administration, enhance data management systems, strengthen institutional efficiency, and support evidence-based decision-making for improved health outcomes in Kano State.

He noted that the engagement with the Ministry of Health marks a significant step towards realising Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s vision of a digitally enabled government that is efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of citizens.
Dr. Muzakkari also highlighted KASITDA’s recent achievement in securing a N7 billion investment to support the digitisation of three strategic sectors in the state: the Kano State Ministry of Health, the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA), and the Kano State Judiciary.
According to him, the investment will deliver cutting-edge digital solutions, strengthen institutional capacity, and establish robust information management systems that will significantly improve governance and service delivery across the selected sectors.
Those present during the visit included the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Agency, Professor Salisu Muhammad; the Executive Secretary of the Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Mansur Nagoda; the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, Dr. Rahila Mukhtar; as well as directors and senior management staff of KASITDA and officials of the Ministry of Health.
Officials of the Ministry commended KASITDA for its commitment to driving innovation and digital transformation in the public sector and expressed readiness to collaborate closely with the agency to ensure the successful implementation of the digital health transformation initiative.
The sectoral engagements are part of KASITDA’s broader mandate to coordinate and implement the digital transformation agenda of the Kano State Government, positioning the state as a leading hub for digital governance and innovation in Nigeria.
