The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has commended Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, for appointing the immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state, Comrade Husaini Hamisu Yanduna, as a Permanent Secretary in the state civil service.
The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the State President of NULGE, Comrade Nasiru Wada Maiadua, who holds the traditional title of Dan Saran Daura.
Maiadua described Yanduna’s appointment as well deserved, citing his wealth of experience, commitment, and exemplary leadership qualities.
According to him, Yanduna’s leadership made significant contributions to the growth of the Katsina State civil service and the improvement of workers’ welfare during his tenure as NLC chairman.
“He worked closely with organised labour unions to protect the interests of workers. His leadership brought positive changes to the NLC in Katsina State,” the statement said.
Maiadua noted that under Yanduna’s leadership, the implementation of the new minimum wage for workers was achieved, while the state government also settled about N42 billion in gratuities owed to pensioners.
He further stated that the NLC, under Yanduna’s watch, successfully moved into its permanent secretariat, ending decades of operating from rented offices since the creation of Katsina State in 1987.
Maiadua, who also serves as the Vice Chairman and Acting Secretary of the Katsina State NLC, congratulated Yanduna on his appointment on behalf of workers across the state and prayed for Allah to grant him the wisdom, strength, and guidance to succeed in his new assignment.
