The Kano State Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) under the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has successfully evacuated over one hundred trucks of waste at Zaria Road, Gidan Fiat, as part of the government efforts towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment in the state.
The Deputy Managing Director of REMASAB, Alhaji Lamin Mukhtar Hassan who led the operation said the government was seriously committed and concerned about the waste within the Kano metropolis which encouraged the Board to embark on massive operations.
He also urged the dwellers of the area to continue supporting the present administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf by continue giving maximum cooperation to the ministry in terms of its operations to make Kano clean.
However, the deputy director has encouraged them to desist from indiscriminately dumping waste along the main road of Zaria Road, instead, he provided an alternative place approved by the government to serve as a dumping site.
He similarly stressed that the board would be visiting the dumping site for evacuation of waste.
Alhaji Lamin also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his style of leadership and the support he has regularly rendered to the ministry.
