Members of the Hausa community and Islamic clerics in Kogi State gathered at Obajana for a special three-hour prayer session dedicated to Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group of Companies, and his conglomerate. The event aimed to seek relief for the challenges currently faced by the business empire.
The prayer took place at Mal. Umar Tanko Mosque in Obajana and included special supplications for Dangote, his family, and his company amidst the recent difficulties the conglomerate is experiencing.
Alhaji Idris Dan Iliyasu, Chairman of Satami Global Enterprises and organizer of the event, praised Dangote as a significant figure in Nigeria and beyond. He emphasized that Dangote’s companies have created thousands of jobs and made substantial contributions to Nigeria’s social and economic development.
Iliyasu urged critics of Dangote’s companies to reconsider their stance, noting that negative impacts on the conglomerate could have severe consequences for its employees, their families, and the country at large.
He stated, “If we had ten more individuals like Dangote in Nigeria, the country would surpass its current social and economic status, given his substantial contributions to the nation’s growth.”
The Chairman of the Hausa community in Obajana, Mal. Nura Aliyu expressed gratitude to the event’s organizer and prayed for the protection and success of Dangote, his family, and his businesses.
He also urged Hausa youth to avoid criminal activities and to report suspicious behaviour to local security agencies.
The event featured the recitation of 60 verses from the Holy Quran and was attended by over 500 people, including various Islamic organizations.
