Sirajo Ado Jibia has emerged as consensus candidate under the banner of APC to contest for Jibia Local Government Council in Katsina State for next year February Local Government Election in the state.
His emergence as consensus candidate which was unanimously adopted by the party stakeholders also affirmed by delegates from 11 wards across the council.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the affirmation exercise, one of the stakeholder of APC in the area, Suleiman Jibia commended party members for unanimously stand behind the candidature of Ado Jibia.
Suleiman who supervised the affirmation exercise held at Jibia Local Government Council Secretariat, expressed satisfaction with peaceful conduct of the affirmation exercise.
He said the stakeholders of the party adopted Ado Jibia as consensus candidate because of his leadership qualities, adding that Ado was a popular candidate to win the forthcoming Local Government election.
In his speech, Senator Abdul’aziz Yar’adua tasked party members on unity and work for the party success during the election.
Senator Yar’adua called on the people of the council to assist security with vital information on the hideout of criminal to end insecurity problem facing the area.
Responding, Ado Jibia thanked APC stakeholders and members of the party for the confidence repose in him and pledged not to betray them.
He said if elected as chairman of the council he will use his experience and work to bring development for the area.
He said he is not contesting to enrich himself, but contribute to address problems facing people of Jibia.
He commended other contestants for supporting him to emerge as consensus candidate of the party.
