Thousands of supporters has on Tuesday trooped out to welcome governorship aspirant, Kashim Musa Tumsah, during his visit to Nguru Local Government Area of Yobe State, in what observers described as one of the largest political gatherings witnessed in the area in recent times.
The gathering attracted a large number of party supporters, particularly youths and women, who lined major roads and public spaces to receive the aspirant amid chants, cheers and displays of solidarity.
Political observers noted that the turnout was particularly significant as the reception took place in the hometown of the candidate reportedly endorsed by the state government, a development many described as a clear indication of growing grassroots participation and increasing demand for inclusive leadership in the state.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Tumsah expressed appreciation for the warm reception and urged supporters to remain steadfast and committed ahead of the party primaries.
He advised party members to safeguard their membership slips, stressing that the documents would play a crucial role during the primary election process.
According to him, supporters should remain vigilant against any attempt by individuals to collect or buy their membership slips, warning that such actions could undermine their democratic rights and participation in the electoral process.
Tumsah further encouraged anyone whose membership slip might be tampered with or taken away to immediately obtain a reprint in order to protect their eligibility to participate in the primaries.
The visit is widely seen as part of ongoing political mobilization ahead of the forthcoming governorship contest in Yobe State, with growing interest among party faithful and stakeholders across various local government areas.
