The Kano State Ministry of Health has engaged with State Ministry for Public Procurement and other key procurement stakeholders in a strategic dialogue aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and overall service delivery within the health sector.
The engagement brought together relevant actors in procurement processes to strengthen collaboration, ensure compliance with due process, and enhance value for public resources allocated to healthcare services.
Speaking during the session, the Honorable Commissioner Ministry for Public Procurement Projects Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPME), Kano Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila emphasized the importance of effective procurement practices in achieving quality healthcare delivery, noting that timely procurement of essential drugs, medical equipment, and other health commodities remains critical to improving patient outcomes across the state.
Stakeholders at the meeting also discussed challenges affecting procurement procedures, including delays, documentation gaps, and coordination issues, while proposing practical solutions to streamline processes and promote accountability.
The Kano State Ministry of Health under the leadership of the Honorable Commissioner Dr. Abubakar Labaran reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment in working closely with procurement bodies and partners across Kano State and beyond to ensure that healthcare facilities across Kano State are better equipped to deliver timely and efficient services to the public.
