The North West Governor’s Forum and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will hold a Peace and Security Summit in Katsina State.
The Summit which is to commence between 24th to 25th in the state will be attended by Governors of Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto States.
Speaking with newsmen, Katsina State Commissioner of Information, Dr Bala Salisu Zango said the Summit will explore solutions to ongoing security, focusing on promoting peace and stability.
Bala further said the Summit is expected to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and action.
He added that: “Discussion will explore sustainable approaches to achieving food security and fostering sustainable livelihoods.'”
Bala said the outcome of the Summit will provide solutions to the lingering insecurity problem facing the region.
He commended UNDP and other partners for working to return peace in the region.
The Commissioner called on journalists to give wider coverage of the Summit.
