The Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS) has announced the commencement of the distribution of about 5,000 unclaimed drivers’ licences received from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
According to the Service, the collection exercise will run from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the PSIRS headquarters in Jos.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Head of the Corporate Communications Department, Wulashik Lucius Dafaan, who urged applicants yet to collect their drivers’ licences to take advantage of the exercise without further delay.
Dafaan said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that all outstanding drivers’ licences are delivered to their rightful owners while clearing the backlog of unclaimed licences.
He called on all residents of Plateau State who had applied for drivers’ licences but were yet to receive them to visit the PSIRS headquarters located at No. 6 Bank Road, Jos, for immediate collection.
According to him, the licences have remained unclaimed for some time and are now available for collection during official working hours.
He advised applicants to come along with a valid means of identification and any other relevant documents required to verify their identities and facilitate a seamless collection process.
The PSIRS reaffirmed its commitment to providing efficient public service and urged eligible applicants to promptly collect their licences to avoid unnecessary delays.
