The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has on Thursday commissioned the newly completed Lodge Road located within the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Nasarawa Local Government Area in Kano State, and also flagged off the construction of Sarkin Yaki Road in Sabon Gari, Fagge Local Government Area.
The First Lady was received and accompanied by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside his wife, the Wife of the Governor of Katsina State, the Wife of the Deputy President of the Senate, and other distinguished women leaders who added colour and significance to the occasion.
This was contained in a press statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor.
Speaking during the event, Senator Oluremi Tinubu highlighted the importance of infrastructure as a catalyst for economic advancement, social inclusion, and national development.
She noted that quality roads are essential for the smooth movement of people and goods, improved security access, and the strengthening of both state and national economies.
The First Lady further stressed the need for sustained collaboration between federal, state, and local authorities to ensure that more communities benefit from impactful projects that address the needs of the people.
In his remarks, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described the First Lady’s visit as a moment of pride and joy for Kano State, noting that it reflects the spirit of partnership required to drive meaningful development.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote growth, modernization, and prosperity across the state.
The commissioning of Lodge Road and the flag-off of the Sarkin Yaki Road project are expected to create new opportunities for businesses, improve transportation networks, and contribute significantly to urban renewal in Kano metropolis.
The event reflects renewed hope, purposeful governance, and a shared determination to build stronger communities through strategic investment in infrastructure.
