The Ringo Sport Club–Nigeria has commenced preparations for the maiden edition of the Nigerian Para-Military Ringo Sport Tournament (NIPAMRIST) Abuja 2026, scheduled to hold from Thursday, November 26 to Saturday, November 28, 2026, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The tournament is expected to bring together officers and personnel from Nigerian para-military establishments.
Speaking at the inauguration of the organising committee, the National President of Ringo Sport Club–Nigeria and Chairman of the National Inter-Agency Organising Committee (NIAOC), Malam Ahmed Mohammed Sule, said the inauguration marked the beginning of preparations for the tournament.
He said the event would require hard work, sacrifice and a collective vision to achieve the desired success.
Malam Ahmed described NIPAMRIST as a significant milestone for Ringo Sport Club–Nigeria and an important platform for promoting inter-agency relations and national sports development.
According to him, the tournament is also designed to promote national cohesion by fostering esprit de corps, teamwork, peace and unity among Nigerian para-military establishments.
While expressing appreciation for the turnout of committee members at the inauguration, he stressed the need for commitment among participating agencies through adequate preparation, mass participation and mobilisation of the resources required to host a world-class tournament.
He urged the committee to intensify efforts towards resource mobilisation and funding to ensure a successful tournament capable of producing champions while strengthening the national security architecture.
The Ringo Sport Club president also emphasised the importance of adequate preparation by players and participating contingents.
He said players would need to prepare thoroughly to perform well and compete for the various trophies, prizes and medals at stake.
Malam Ahmed explained that the tournament would provide an opportunity to test the skills, discipline and sportsmanship of personnel who had previously undergone intensive training in the Ringo sport.
He expressed optimism that participants would apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to deliver strong performances at the tournament.
About 120 players and officials drawn from eight para-military agencies are expected to participate in the three-day event, which will feature sports, socialisation, networking and activities linking sports with tourism.
Agencies so far registered for the tournament include the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), National Park Service (NPS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Federal Fire Service (FFS), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Further participating agencies are expected to join the tournament as preparations continue.
