Samir Rufai Hanga has resigned his membership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), ending his brief association with the party.
In a resignation letter dated August 3, 2026, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of the NDC in Dakata Ward, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Hanga announced that his resignation takes immediate effect.
He expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to be a member despite his short stay.
“I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the party for giving me the opportunity to be a member, even though my time with the party was short,” he stated.
Hanga also wished the party well, praying for its continued growth and success in strengthening democracy in Nigeria.
“I extend my best wishes to the NDC and pray that the party grows in strength as it continues to contribute to the development of democracy in Nigeria,” the letter added.
The resignation comes shortly after his father, Senator Dr. Rufa’i Hanga, also announced his departure from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), marking another significant political development for the Hanga family.
