A former commissioner under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Hon. Felix Tangwami, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during a press conference in Yola, Tangwami officially announced his ambition to vie for the state’s top political office, stating that his decision was driven by a desire to serve and bring positive change.
He said he had long been involved in efforts aimed at improving lives and correcting anomalies caused by bad governance over the years.
According to him, his service in various leadership positions at both military and civilian levels has equipped him with the necessary skills, competence, and experience to lead Adamawa State to the “promised land.”
Tangwami emphasized that, if elected, he would consolidate existing progress, strengthen unity, and build a more prosperous future for the people of Adamawa State.
The former Commissioner for Health noted that in the last six years, Adamawa had witnessed significant progress that has positively changed its development trajectory, particularly in infrastructure, human capital development, rural and urban development, health, and education.
He stated that his agenda would focus on infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, commerce and industry, environment, civil service reform, housing development, security, peace, and unity among the diverse ethnic groups in the state.
According to him, his leadership would be guided by fairness, justice, and inclusivity, adding that his appointments, policies, and programmes would reflect the diversity of Adamawa State.
He also pledged to promote interfaith dialogue, mutual respect, and unity at all levels of governance.
