From Mu’awuya Bala Idris, Katsina
The Tinubu/Dikko Assured (TDA) 2027 political support group has provided 45 solar-powered streetlights to strengthen activities at Islamiyya schools across Katsina State.
The group also empowered 690 teachers selected from across the state with N30,000 each as cash assistance.
Speaking at the occasion, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, commended the group for the initiative, describing it as a step towards improving teaching and learning in Islamic education and motivating teachers.
Governor Radda announced a personal donation of N10,000 to each beneficiary and called on elected officials and political appointees to emulate the initiative.
The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his economic reforms, which he said had enabled states to execute projects, pay salaries and pensions without resorting to borrowing.
He said his administration had so far executed projects worth more than N30 billion in the last three years without borrowing.
Radda called on Nigerians to re-elect the All Progressives Congress (APC) for continuity and the execution of more meaningful projects across the country.
Earlier, former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, said anyone who refused to acknowledge the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Radda was being hypocritical.
Masari highlighted major Federal Government infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other strategic roads, saying improved infrastructure would create economic opportunities and support agricultural development.
The former governor also commended the improvements along the Kaduna-Abuja road, describing them as evidence of the impact of effective leadership.
In his remarks, the Director-General of Tinubu/Dikko Assured, Hon. Umar Ahmed Zayyad, recalled that the political group had initiated several projects aimed at supporting vulnerable people, students and women.
Zayyad said the group decided to provide solar streetlights to Islamiyya schools to create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
He added that the financial assistance to teachers would serve as a morale booster, assuring that the programme would continue because of its importance to society.
He also commended Governor Radda for executing various projects across the state, noting that such projects would help improve the living standards of the people.
