From Joseph Asegba, Yola

Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday received a new governorship aspirant, Engr. Diaulhaq Abubakar, who formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 election.

Speaking at the party secretariat in Yola, Abubakar said his decision was motivated by a desire to promote equitable and people-oriented governance in the state.

“I am a young man with a clear vision for fairness and inclusive development,” he said, pledging to focus on boosting the state’s internally generated revenue to fund critical infrastructure, expand skills acquisition programmes for youths and women, and ensure development reaches all communities.

Receiving the aspirant, APC State Chairman, Barrister Idris Shuaibu, described Abubakar’s entry as a welcome development. He noted that the party remains open and inclusive, and highlighted Abubakar’s youthfulness, industriousness, and philanthropic record as key strengths.

“He is a deserving aspirant in the contest for the 2027 governorship election,” Shuaibu said.

On the national level, the chairman expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains unrivaled ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He cited Tinubu’s initiatives, including the student loan scheme, the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, and efforts to curb insecurity, as evidence of effective leadership.

“President Tinubu has done so much and has clearly shown that he is the best option for Nigeria,” Shuaibu said, adding that Nigerians have no reason to look elsewhere when choosing the country’s next leader.

The declaration ceremony drew party officials, supporters, and journalists, with Abubakar fielding questions and outlining his plans for the state.

“My goal is to generate enough revenue to develop infrastructure, promote skills acquisition for personal and economic growth, and ensure every citizen gets what is due to him or her,” Abubakar said.
