A former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Madaki Usha (PhD), has described Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the most qualified and suitable candidate for the Nasarawa State governorship election in 2027.
Hon. Usha stated that Senator Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), possesses the experience, leadership qualities, and political network necessary to sustain and expand the developmental strides recorded under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
He made the remarks shortly after receiving an Award of Honour as an Icon of Democracy in North Central Nigeria from the Pan-African Leadership Transparency Center in collaboration with Africa Sky News TV. The award recognized his contributions to democracy, good governance, and the development of Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
According to Hon. Usha, Senator Wadada’s grassroots appeal and extensive experience at both state and national levels have positioned him as a strong contender capable of taking Nasarawa State to greater heights.
He noted that Senator Wadada enjoys widespread connections across the country and has consistently used them for the benefit of ordinary citizens.
“In Nasarawa State, nobody has the kind of connections Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada possesses. Even the present governor has acknowledged this.
“More importantly, he uses those connections to serve the masses. Whatever opportunities come his way are often extended to the people,” Usha said.
The former lawmaker, who also served as Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, expressed confidence that Senator Wadada would emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election.
He pointed out that throughout his political career, Wadada has never lost an election, including his successful senatorial bid under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2023, where he reportedly secured overwhelming support across the state.
Hon. Usha further recalled that during a previous APC governorship primary, Senator Wadada defeated his opponents convincingly across the state, attributing the victory to his popularity and strong political structure.
He also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his achievements in office, describing him as a leader who has transformed Nasarawa State through numerous developmental projects.
“Governor Sule has transformed Nasarawa State and laid a solid foundation for sustainable development.
“His administration has recorded significant progress across various sectors,” he said.
Speaking on his award, Hon. Usha expressed appreciation to the organizers for recognizing his contributions to community development, democracy, and public service.
He emphasized that leadership should be centered on service to the people, noting that his years in public office were dedicated to improving the lives of citizens.
“If you want to be a good leader, you must be committed to serving your people. Throughout my eight years in the State House of Assembly, my focus was always on delivering quality representation and service,” he stated.
Hon. Usha also pledged continued support and partnership with the media, stressing its vital role in promoting development and holding leaders accountable.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Award and Leader of the Pan-African Leadership Transparency Center, Peter Daniel Jatau, said the organization found Hon. Usha worthy of recognition due to his commitment to democratic values, community development, and service to humanity.
Jatau commended the former lawmaker’s contributions to the progress of Nasarawa State and Nigeria, assuring him of the organization’s continued partnership in promoting positive leadership and societal development.
