Former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has once again demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development by extending his empowerment programme to communities in Sokoto East Senatorial District.
The intervention involved the distribution of 200 motorcycles, 400 sewing machines, and over 4,000 assorted food items to beneficiaries across eight local government areas.
The initiative, aimed at improving livelihoods and boosting economic activities at the grassroots, targeted a wide range of beneficiaries, including APC ward and local government chairmen, party officials, youth and women leaders, traditional rulers, as well as social media influencers.
The distribution ceremony, which took place in Gwadabawa, drew prominent political figures and party stakeholders from across the senatorial zone.
Senator Wamakko, who was represented at the event by the APC State Financial Secretary, Alhaji Nasiru Italy, was also supported by Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and other key party leaders.
Observers say the gesture underscores Wamakko’s sustained efforts in empowering communities and consolidating party structures across Sokoto State.
It will be recalled that similar empowerment initiatives were earlier carried out in Sokoto North and Sokoto South Senatorial Districts.
