The Chairman of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission ADSIEC, Mohammed Umar says the commission is 100 per cent logistically ready and prepared for the 13th of July, chairmanship and councillorship of the local government council in the state.
Umar told the press in his office in Yola the state capital that they are set for the election.
His words, “We are 100 per cent logistically ready and prepared for the 13th July local government council election which cut across the 21 councils in the state.
On the number of ad hoc staff for the election, the chairman revealed that all the 4,104 pooling units will be manned by three ad hoc staff including the security agencies.
He said, All security agencies in the state already screened all our candidates for the contest, and nobody is disqualified for the 13th of July 2024, saying the commission has no right to disqualify any candidate.
ADSIEC Commissioner reiterates that 12 political parties are participating in the 13th July Adamawa state local government council election.
The two major opposition parties, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP) have distanced themselves and their followers from participating in the exercise describing it as child play.
The Chairman, of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission ADSIEC Alhaji Mohammed Umar, expressed how preparedness of the commission towards the contest and that, 12 registered political parties will take part in the election.
According to him, 60 chairmanship contestants cut across the parties will square up for the chairmanship of the 21 local government council seats.
Mohammed Umar said, “All the candidates have been screened and forward fit for the election no candidate was disqualified, and security has been beefed up in all local government areas where black spots are been identified for further beef up.”
