The Secretary of the Group Organization of Nine NGOs, Ambassador Usman Mallam Hussain, popularly known as Dan Amanar Sarkin Maganin Kasar Hausa, has said that the organisation prioritises capacity building over giving out cash.
He made the statement during a recent event in the ancient city of Kano.
According to Ambassador Usman, the Director-General of the Group Organization of Nine NGOs, Dr. Ambassador Abdurazak Toure, who is also the Sarkin Maganin Kasar Hausa, has dedicated his leadership to empowering people through education, skills development, employment opportunities, and international partnerships.
He explained that one of the organisation’s flagship initiatives is Hijra TV, under which qualified Nigerians are sponsored for internship and professional exchange programmes in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman.
“We have established partnerships with organisations in these countries, enabling us to facilitate employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled Nigerians.
“In some cases, we provide beneficiaries with interest-free loans to cover their flight tickets. Once they are successfully settled abroad, they repay the loans,” he said.
Ambassador Usman added that the organisation is duly registered with the Federal Ministry of Labour, which enables it to coordinate employment and labour-related programmes.
He further disclosed that Dr. Toure also serves as the President of the International Youth Forums Global and is recognised as the United Nations Peace Commissioner for Africa.
According to him, the organisation also runs internal empowerment programmes for youths and women, providing them with skills and opportunities for self-reliance.
In addition, he said Dr. Toure has used his network and influence to secure scholarship opportunities for qualified Nigerian students to study in Egypt.
“We remain grateful to our supporters and members of the society for their continuous encouragement. Our mission is to build people, create opportunities, and promote sustainable development rather than simply distributing money,” Ambassador Usman stated.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to empowering Nigerians through education, employment, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration.
