The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Deputy Women Leader, Hajiya Fatima Mairiga, who passed away on Saturday in Kano after a brief illness.
Hajiya Mairiga was widely regarded as a committed party stalwart who contributed significantly to the growth and development of the APC in Yobe State through her dedication to women’s empowerment and grassroots mobilisation.
According to a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Hussaini Maisuleh, the late APC leader will be laid to rest on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The statement said the funeral prayer (Salatul Janazah) is scheduled to take place at 4:00 p.m. at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre in Damaturu, Yobe State.
Her death has been described as a great loss to the APC family and the people of Yobe State, with party members and sympathisers mourning her contributions and praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
