The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday swore in Murtala Sule Garo as the new Deputy Governor of the state.
The event, earlier scheduled to hold at the Coronation Hall of the Government House, was later shifted to the Africa House within the Government House premises.
Speaking shortly after taking the oath of office, Garo pledged to work diligently to support the Yusuf-led administration and advance its developmental agenda.
He assured residents of his commitment to promoting good governance, unity and continuity in government policies.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by top government officials and party stakeholders, including former governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Ibrahim Shekarau.
The Triumph reports that the state government had earlier announced that the ceremony would hold on Tuesday at 11:00am at the Coronation Hall, following an official invitation extended to stakeholders and members of the public.
The event marks a significant development in the state’s political leadership, with expectations that the new deputy governor will strengthen the administration’s drive for governance and service delivery.
