A political pressure group, the Political and Public Office Holders Association of Yobe North Senatorial District, has purchased the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for Governor Mai Mala Buni to contest the zone’s senatorial seat.
The forms were presented to the governor by representatives of the association in Damaturu, according to a statement issued by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed.
The spokesperson for the association, Hon. Aji Bularafa, said members of the group made personal contributions to purchase the forms for the governor.
He said the gesture was aimed at ensuring that Buni continued serving the people after completing his tenure as governor.
“This is to ensure that after your tenure as governor, you should continue serving the people in the capacity of a federal legislator,” Bularafa said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Yobe APC Critical Stakeholders Forum and Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, commended the association for endorsing the governor and purchasing the forms for him.
Gaidam described the move as a demonstration of confidence in Buni’s leadership and service to the state.
Responding, Buni expressed appreciation to the association and the people of the zone for the support.
“I cannot thank you enough, and I pledge to continue serving our people diligently,” the governor said.
Buni is expected to contest for the Yobe North Senatorial District seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
