The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, has visited the Long Kwo of Kwo Nation, His Royal Highness Amb. Yahaya Kwande, where he sought royal blessings ahead of his re-election bid.
During the visit, Lalong paid homage to the traditional ruler and expressed appreciation for his role in promoting peace, unity and stability within the Kwo Chiefdom.
The senator also congratulated the monarch on his 93rd birthday, describing him as a symbol of wisdom, resilience and selfless service to humanity.
He noted that traditional institutions remain critical to sustaining peace and development, stressing the need for continued collaboration between elected leaders and royal fathers.
Lalong reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Plateau South Senatorial District, adding that his political journey has been guided by the support and prayers of traditional institutions.
“The support and prayers of our royal fathers remain essential to sustaining peace and driving meaningful development across our communities,” he said.
In a separate engagement, the senator also visited the newly appointed Long Pan of Pan Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Jerome Leklat Goewam, to congratulate him on his ascension to the throne.
He prayed for a successful reign, urging the monarch to uphold peace, unity and development within the Chiefdom.
In their separate remarks, both traditional rulers commended Senator Lalong for what they described as his passionate representation and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
They said his track record in public service reflects genuine concern for the people and the development of the region.
The royal fathers offered prayers and blessings for the senator, wishing him success in his future political aspirations.
