Yobe State Governor, Dr. Mai Mala Buni, on Wednesday paid a personal condolence visit to the Bauchi State Government, the family of the late Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi, and the Tijjaniya Movement following the cleric’s death last week.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mamman Mohammed, Director-General of Press and Media Affairs, Gov. Buni noted that a high-powered Yobe State government delegation, led by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, had earlier attended the funeral prayer for the revered scholar in Bauchi.
During the visit, Gov. Buni, accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, prayed for the repose of Sheik Dahiru’s soul.
Describing the loss as deeply painful, the Governor said, “Sheik died at a time when his wise counsel and prayers for the nation were most needed, but that was his appointed time by our Creator. Late Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi lived a life in service to Islam. We pray to Almighty Allah to accept all his ibadah, forgive his shortcomings, and admit him into Aljannat Firdaus.”
Gov. Buni also prayed for strength for the Tijjaniya Movement and the cleric’s family to bear the irreparable loss. He urged Nigerians to continue praying for guidance for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders, particularly for improved security, peace, and national prosperity.
Alhaji Masari, who joined the condolence visit, described Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi as “a great scholar who will be missed immensely” and prayed that Allah grant him eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus.
The visit highlighted Governor Buni’s personal commitment to maintaining strong relations with religious leaders and supporting communities in times of loss.
