The Kano State Government has launched the Fix Kano App, a digital platform aimed at enhancing citizen participation, accountability and service delivery across the state.
The app was unveiled on Sunday at the maiden Kano Startup Weekend 2025, organised by the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Yusuf Kofarmata, said the initiative would provide residents with a direct channel to report issues and monitor government responses.
“The Fix Kano App is a bold governance tool that allows citizens to report problems and track how government resolves them,” Kofarmata said. “It reflects this administration’s commitment to transparency, participatory governance and efficient service delivery.”
The Director General of the agency, Dr Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, said the platform covers key sectors such as infrastructure, security, health, education, sanitation, agriculture and the environment.
According to him, “The app is equipped with a monitoring and feedback mechanism to ensure accountability and measurable outcomes in service delivery.”
Also speaking at the event, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, commended Kano State for deploying a digital solution that supports data-driven governance and aligns with national digital transformation objectives.
The state government urged residents to actively use the app to responsibly report issues, saying the initiative would strengthen engagement between citizens and public institutions while improving governance outcomes.
