The crisis within the PDP in Katsina State has taken a new dimension, with a faction of the Party rejecting ward and Local government Congresses conducted by the caretaker committee of the party.

The Triumph gathered that the caretaker committee, with the backing of Senator Lado Danmarke, conducted the Congresses to usher in new executives at the ward and local Government levels.

Our correspondent learnt that the conduct of the two Congresses is coming as a State High Court under Justice Umar Bawalle is set to give a ruling on a case filed before it by a faction led by Mustapha lnuwa praying for the Court to restrain the committee to conduct the Congress.

It was gathered despite the litigation surrounding the issue the Caretaker committee conducted the Congress in 361wards and across 34 council areas.

In a chat with newsmen, a lawyer representing the Lnuwa faction, Barrister M.S.Mahuta, described the Conduct of the Congresses as illegal and disobeyed of the Court.

Mahuta said the caretaker committee should wait for the ruling of the State High Court coming on 12th of August this year before conducting the Congresses.

“We instituted a case before a State High Court with prayer restraining the Committee to conduct the Congress”” he said.

He further said, “We reject the outcome of the Congresses; the conduct of the Congresses is illegal because the issue is before a State High Court and the Committee was served with all documents on the expected Court ruling.”

He said the conduct of the Congresses denied 7,905 genuine members access to purchase nomination forms by the caretaker committee.

Reacting, a member of the caretaker committee, Tijjani Umar Mashasha, said the claim by the Mustapha lnuwa faction is irrelevant, and the Committee was not served with any court document.

Mashasha who supervised the conduct of the Rimi Local Government Congress told newsmen that the Committee has the backing of INEC and security agents to conduct the congresses
