The need for stronger collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Police Force to enhance national security, intelligence sharing, and surveillance has been emphasized.
This was stated by the Acting Comptroller of the Eastern Marine Command, E. E. Esiet, during a courtesy visit to the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Rashid B. Afegbua, in his office in Calabar.
Esiet noted that both agencies must work closely to improve national security operations, particularly in the areas of maritime safety, border surveillance, and intelligence sharing.
He stressed that enhanced cooperation between security agencies would strengthen operational efficiency and improve the overall security architecture of the country.
During the engagement, discussions focused on improving intelligence sharing, operational synergy, maritime security, border monitoring, and other areas of mutual interest aimed at enhancing public safety and national security.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining strong partnerships with sister security agencies for effective policing and maintenance of law and order in Cross River State.
He further assured members of the public of the command’s continuous dedication to collaborative security efforts aimed at protecting lives and property across the state.
