Stakeholders from Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State have commended Governor Dikko Umar Radda for taking steps to revive and complete the Lambar Rimi Mill Power Project, which was abandoned about 20 years ago.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Salisu Mamman Kadandani, gave the commendation while leading a delegation of Rimi indigenes on a thank-you visit to the Government House in Katsina.
The delegation comprised traditional and religious leaders, community elders, party members, and other stakeholders from the local government.
Kadandani said the completion of the power project would significantly improve electricity supply across the state and stimulate economic activities.
“If completed, this project will not only benefit Rimi Local Government but the entire state.
“It will boost economic activities and create more opportunities for our people,” he said.
He noted that Governor Radda’s administration has executed several development projects across Rimi within the past three years, including the construction of five secondary schools.
Kadandani also praised the government’s various empowerment programmes for vulnerable groups, describing them as impactful and beneficial to residents.
He further commended the recent commissioning of the Tsegeru Semi-Urban Water Project, saying it would address the long-standing water shortage affecting communities in the area.
He called on the people of Katsina State to continue supporting the policies and programmes of Governor Radda’s administration to ensure sustained development across the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of Rimi Local Government Area, Mohammed Ali Rimi, appealed to the state government to construct the Sabon Gari–Goje–Majen Gobir road.
According to him, the road would ease the transportation of farm produce, agricultural inputs, and other essential goods, thereby enhancing economic activities in the area.
Responding, Governor Dikko Umar Radda assured the delegation that the road project had been captured under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
The governor thanked the people of Rimi for their continued support for his administration, describing their visit as a source of encouragement to deliver more developmental projects to the area.
