I, Mu’awiya Bala Idris, a reporter with Triumph Newspaper based in the Katsina Office, hereby tender an unreserved apology regarding a recent news report published by me, which claimed that the Katsina State Government planned to open literacy classes for repentant bandits.
I acknowledge that the said publication was inaccurate, misleading, and did not reflect the true position of the Katsina State Government or any of its authorized agencies. There is no such plan or policy to establish literacy classes or educational reintegration programmes for repentant bandits.
The report was published in error, and I take full responsibility for the misinformation and the misrepresentation it caused to the government, the State Agency for Mass Education, and the general public.
I sincerely apologise for the confusion and concern the report may have caused. I also give a firm undertaking that such a misleading publication will not happen again. Going forward, I will ensure strict adherence to journalistic ethics and due verification processes.
