The management of the University of Jos, at the end of its meeting on Friday, 3rd April 2026, considered the effects of the heightened tensions and threats to the lives and safety of students during the week, which led to the decision to allow students to travel home for the extended Easter holidays.
The management has directed that all examinations will resume from Monday, 13th April 2026, beginning with those that were postponed from 30th March 2026.
This was contained in a statement signed by Emmanuel Madugu, Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations of the University of Jos.
The statement further advised that for clarification, students should contact their Faculty Examinations Timetable Officer.
“Students who are on campus are assured of their safety, as security has been strengthened.
“They are advised to remain vigilant, exercise extra caution in their movements, and report immediately any sign or threat to public peace to the University Security Division.
“Normal academic activities in the university community will resume from Tuesday, 7th April 2026, while management assures the university community of its active collaboration with relevant security agencies to ensure that no breach of peace is tolerated,” he stated .
According to the statement, further updates will be communicated as directed by management.
