The Arafat sermon during this year’s Hajj exercise will be translated into 35 languages and broadcast through digital platforms and affiliated channels to reach millions of Muslims around the world.
President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al Sudais, disclosed this while speaking on preparations for the annual sermon.
Al Sudais said the initiative is aimed at promoting Islam’s message of moderation and ensuring that non-Arabic-speaking Muslims benefit from the spiritual and humanitarian themes of the sermon.
According to him, the translation project reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to serving Islam and Muslims globally, while also highlighting the kingdom’s efforts to improve services for pilgrims through modern technology and digital communication platforms.
He explained that specialised technical, media and translation teams had been mobilised to ensure the sermon reaches the widest possible global audience with high professional and technical standards.
The annual Arafat sermon, delivered on the Day of Arafat during Hajj, is regarded as one of the most significant religious sermons in the Islamic world and is followed by millions of Muslims across the globe.
