The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has paid for the 2026 Hajj Hadya (sacrificial animal) for all intending pilgrims from Kebbi State.
This was disclosed on Monday by the Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Yaro, while inaugurating members of the 2026 Hajj exercise committee at the board’s premises.
The chairman stated that the gesture is part of the present administration’s commitment to ensuring good governance and accountability in the Holy Land.
“You can see that this development is an unprecedented gesture that demonstrates Governor Idris’s commitment to easing the burden on pilgrims,” he added.
He pointed out that the 2026 Hajj exercise marks the fourth Hajj operation for which the governor has paid the Hadya, describing previous exercises as highly successful and commendable.
He then urged all intending pilgrims to continue praying for the success of the administration.
The committees inaugurated include those on feeding, transport, accommodation, media and publicity, hygiene, security, health, and welfare, while advance teams will also be sent to Saudi Arabia to finalize arrangements ahead of the arrival of pilgrims.
The chairman further admonished all 21 Local Government Hajj guides to adhere strictly to the board’s guidelines by supporting pilgrims from their various local government areas, particularly in handling luggage and other procedures.
He also appreciated all stakeholders who have contributed to the successful organization of the Hajj exercise in the state.
Also speaking, the 2026 Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Ahmad Jafar Jega, thanked Governor Idris for his continued support to the board and for ensuring hitch-free Hajj operations each year.
He equally commended the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Faruku Musa Yaro Enabo, for his hard work and dedication to service.
He assured Governor Idris that this year’s Hajj exercise would be even better than previous ones, as all members would work in synergy to ensure a successful operation.
