The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Rano, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umaru, over the death of his mother.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said he was deeply shocked and saddened by the news of her passing, describing the late Hajiya Maimuna Isa Umaru as a caring mother who lived an exemplary life.
This was contained in a press release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, Saturday.
The Governor, who was away on an official engagement at the time of the incident, had earlier sent two separate delegations to represent him at the funeral and condolence visits.
The delegations were led by the Chief of Staff, Dr. Sulaiman Walid Sani (mni), and the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, respectively.
“On behalf of myself, my family, the government, and the entire people of Kano State, we extend our condolences to you and the people of the Rano Emirate.
“We pray that Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings and grants her Aljannatul Firdaus,” the Governor said during his visit to the Rano Emirate Palace.
Governor Yusuf was accompanied by representatives of the APC leadership at both national and state levels, as well as commissioners, special advisers, heads of government agencies, and other officials.
The Emir of Rano (Autan Bawo), Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umaru, thanked the governor for the condolence visit and noted that the bond between the Governor and the people of Rano Emirate remains strong.
He expressed appreciation for the unity fostered by the governor across the state and commended him for various developmental projects in the Emirate, including the provision of water, road construction, and market development.
Meanwhile, the governor and his entourage proceeded to the hometown of the late Assistant Organising Secretary of the APC in the state, Barrister Abdussalam Ginsau, who died while preparing for the APC National Convention in Abuja.
Governor Yusuf described the deceased as a hardworking, honest, and God-fearing individual, and prayed that Allah grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.
Earlier, the Chairman of the APC in Kano State, Alhaji Haruna Umar Doguwa, informed the gathering that investigations revealed that the late Barrister Abdussalam Ginsau died of natural causes, with no foul play involved.
Doguwa, visibly shaken, described the deceased as a dependable ally and prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings.
The Chairman of Rano Local Government, Nazir Muhammad Yau, along with the village head and the father of the deceased, expressed their gratitude to the Governor for showing compassion and support to the bereaved family.
